Thinking about booking your first session at Suelta Sauna but not sure what to expect? Don't worry — we've got you covered. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive at Turramurra's favourite Sweat + Chill destination.
What is a Sweat + Chill Session?
A Sweat + Chill session combines time in our traditional Finnish sauna with an ice bath. It's a practice rooted in thousands of years of Nordic tradition — the contrast between extreme heat and cold creates a powerful physiological response that leaves you feeling energised, clear-headed, and deeply relaxed all at once.
What Should I Wear?
Wear a swimsuit or activewear you're comfortable sweating in. Bring a towel, thongs or flip-flops, and a change of clothes for afterward. Arrive hydrated and avoid eating a heavy meal in the 1-2 hours before your session.
How Long is a Session?
Each drop-in session runs for 1 hour. During that time you'll typically do multiple rounds — alternating between time in the sauna and a cold plunge in the ice bath. Most people do 3-4 rounds within the session, though there's no pressure — you go at your own pace.
Is it Suitable for Beginners?
Absolutely. Suelta is welcoming to first-timers. You control how long you stay in, how hot you go, and whether you take the cold plunge. Many of our regulars started as complete beginners and now can't imagine their week without it.
